Indian Leaf Butterfly (Kallima inachus)
This butterfly is a remarkable leaf mimic. The shape and camouflage of its wings would fool any predator. The leaf camouflage only shows on the underside of the wings when the butterfly is resting. The upperside of both the male and female are brightly coloured in bands of orange and bluish purple. It feeds on Girardinia and Strobilanthes and other plants. It can be found in India and Pakistan to Southern China and Taiwan.
